Damp & Timber Reports

The services we offer, will assist you in efficient defect diagnosis for complaints you may receive, from Tenants.  Especially useful to Social landlords addressing emergency hazards and damp and mould hazards that present a significant risk of harm to tenants, within fixed timeframes.

You may already know, Kershaw Surveyors have two extremely experienced building surveyors, Kevin Hill and Anthony Cathcart.  Both with well over 20 years’ experience individually, in all aspects of defect analysis, building pathology and damp investigation, having prepared hundreds of expert witness reports, whilst meeting the requirements of CPR Part 35 representing numerous Housing Associations and Local Authorities.  Both have a full understanding and practical experience of the Landlord & Tenant Act 1985, Defective Premises Act 1972, Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation Act) 2018.

Anthony Cathcart is a CSRT surveyor, who are specialists in remedial treatments for buildings, particularly the diagnosis and management of damp and timber decay. CSRT stands for “Certificated Surveyor in Remedial Treatments” and this is a nationally recognized qualification issued by the Property Care Association (PCA).

We can offer Damp & Timber reports, which may assist with further investigations into why your tenant is experiencing damp and mould within their home.  We can provide a detailed defect analysis report, with a schedule of works, outlining a course of recommended remedial actions and potential costings  where required.

Kevin Hill also has the relevant extensive, practical experience in the provision of all types of reports we offer, including Damp & Timber reports, and more detailed Condition reports.
